Cranfield Aerospace Ltd awarded contract for redesign of DEIMOS and LRB Fairing

Cranfield Aerospace Ltd has been awarded a contract by the Met Office to cover the design, manufacture and certification for the repackaging of the DEIMOS (Dual-frequency Extension to In-flight Microwave Observing System)instrument for the BAE 146 Atmospheric Research Aircraft.

This contract will require Cranfield Aerospace Ltd to use their rapid proto-typing and turnkey solutions through their Part 21 G and Part J approved organisations to implement the design, manufacture and certification of the DEIMOS Instrument and outer fairing which is required to be relocated within the centre bay of the LRB (the Large Radiometer Blister) on the FAAM, BAE 146, Aircraft. The programme will be completed in time for the roll change of the aircraft in early 2010.
