FCMA Non-executive Director

Ian became a Non-executive Director of Cranfield Aerospace Ltd in 2002.

Ian retired in 2000 from his position as Aerospace Group Director at Smiths Industries Aerospace with responsibilities for business acquisitions, restructuring and disposals.

Ian joined Smiths in 1989 as a Director and Group Controller. In this role he was responsible for 11 finance directors and VP finance in the UK and USA, as well as a Commercial and Contracts Director and the Group Information Technology Executive. Ian took a key role in developing and strengthening the Financial and Commercial functions within the Aerospace Group.

Previously he had been the Group Director of Finance and Central services at the Civil Aviation Authority.

Ian is also a member of the Finance Board and Scholarship Committee of the Royal Aeronautical Society and up until recently was the Hon Treasurer of The Air League and Trustee of the Air League Educational Trust.
